Convert PDF pages to JPG images
This converter makes one JPG from each page of a PDF, right in your browser. Pages are drawn at 150 dpi unless you choose otherwise, so an A4 page becomes a 1240 × 1754 image; pick 300 dpi for print. Convert every page or just a few, then save one file or a .zip. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Which resolution to pick
A PDF stores text and drawings as shapes, not pixels, so the converter draws each page at the resolution you choose. Resolution is counted in dots per inch: the bigger the page, the more pixels it gets.
At 150 dpi an A4 page becomes 1240 × 1754 pixels and a US Letter page 1275 × 1650. That’s sharp on any screen, in an email or a chat. At 300 dpi they become 2479 × 3508 and 2550 × 3300, enough to print at full size. 72 dpi makes small previews, where small type starts to blur.
600 dpi is there for fine print and close zooming on a computer. Phones and tablets stop at 300 dpi, because a page that size needs more memory than a mobile browser safely gives one tab.
Tested with PDFium via @embedpdf/pdfium 2.15.1, MozJPEG via @jsquash/jpeg 1.6.0 (mozjpeg 3.3.1) and png 0.17.10 + oxipng 9.1.1 on a Mac18,5 (Apple M6) on macOS 27.0.1, 2026-10-15. The output was byte-identical in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit.
JPG or PNG for PDF pages
JPG is the format every app, website and online form accepts, and it keeps scans and photos small. Its compression is lossy, though: the edges of small type can pick up faint speckles.
For pages of text and drawings, PNG is often the better choice, and not only for sharpness. Our busy A4 test page, 80 lines of small type over a grid of 1,200 coloured squares, came to 386 KB as a JPG at quality 85 and 151 KB as a PNG at 150 dpi. At 300 dpi it was 1 MB against 566 KB.
Pages that are mostly photos or scans go the other way, and JPG keeps them much smaller. The format is one tap away in the settings, so you can try both.

Convert only the pages you need
Choose Some pages and type page numbers and ranges, such as 1-3, 5. Each JPG keeps its page’s number in its name, like report-page-05.jpg, so the files sort in page order wherever you save them.
One range works for every PDF in the list. A shorter PDF gives the pages it has, and one with none of them says so rather than saving nothing.
A single page saves as a single JPG. Several pages download together as a .zip; on an iPhone or iPad they open the share sheet, so you can keep them in Photos or Files, and a big batch comes as a .zip there too.
A picture of each page, not the images inside it
Each JPG shows a whole page as it looks: text, drawings and photos together. The converter doesn’t pull out the photos embedded in a PDF at their original size.
Text in a JPG is part of the picture, so it can’t be selected, searched or edited any more. Keep the PDF for that.
A PDF protected with a password can’t be opened here yet; it says so in the list, and the others convert as usual.
How it works
-
Step 1:Add your PDFs
Drop them in or choose them from your device. Each one shows its first page and how many pages it has.
-
Step 2:Set the resolution and pages
150 dpi suits screens and email, 300 dpi suits print. Convert every page, or type the ones you want, like 1-3, 5.
-
Step 3:Press Convert, then save
Pages are drawn one at a time, and each PDF shows the page it’s on. Save a single JPG, or all of them as a .zip.
Questions, answered
Is it safe to convert a confidential PDF here?
Yes. The PDF is opened by an engine running in your browser, and the JPGs are made on your device. Nothing is sent to ToolHero or anyone else, so contracts, bank statements and IDs stay with you.
Why does the text in my JPG look blurry?
The page was drawn at too low a resolution for how closely you’re looking. Small type reads comfortably on screen from 150 dpi and prints well at 300 dpi. Pick a higher setting and press Apply changes: each image is drawn again from the PDF.
Can I convert just one page of a PDF to JPG?
Yes. Choose Some pages and type its number. You get one JPG named after the PDF and the page, such as invoice-page-03.jpg.
How do I convert several PDFs at once?
Add them all and press Convert. With nothing selected every PDF is converted, one after another; select some first to convert only those. Their pages download together in one .zip.
Will the JPG look exactly like the PDF?
It looks as the page does on screen. Fonts embedded in the PDF are drawn as they are, and a font the PDF only names is replaced with a similar one. Transparent areas become white, like paper, because JPG has no transparency.
Is there a limit on pages or file size?
There’s no page limit and no daily quota. Because everything happens on your device, the largest PDF you can open depends on its memory: a computer takes bigger files than a phone.
