Turn sideways photos upright and mirror images.
How it works
-
Step 1:Add your images
Drop them in, choose them from your device or paste from the clipboard. Turn one photo or a whole batch.
-
Step 2:Rotate and flip
Turn left or right, flip horizontally or vertically. The thumbnails turn as you go, so you see the result before you press Rotate.
-
Step 3:Download
Save images one by one, or all at once as a .zip. Your files stay in the workspace, so you can resize, crop or compress them next.
Questions, answered
Do my images leave my device?
No. ToolHero rotates your images right in your browser, on your own device. They’re never sent to a server, so they stay private, and big batches don’t wait on your internet connection.
Does rotating lower the quality?
Not visibly. Turning and flipping only move pixels around. JPG, WebP and AVIF images are saved once at a high quality, and PNG stays lossless.
Every change starts again from your original, so turning a photo back and forth never wears it down.
Can I rotate many images at once?
Yes. With nothing selected, Rotate turns every image in your workspace. Select a few first to turn only those. Each image keeps its own steps, so some photos can face one way and others another.
Why does my photo look upright on my phone but sideways elsewhere?
Phones often save photos sideways with a note that tells apps which way is up. Some apps and websites ignore that note. ToolHero reads it, shows the photo upright, and saves the pixels the right way round, so it looks right everywhere.
What’s the difference between flipping horizontally and vertically?
Flip horizontal mirrors an image left to right, like a reflection in a mirror. It’s handy for selfies and scanned slides. Flip vertical mirrors it top to bottom, like a reflection in a lake.
Can I undo a rotation?
Yes. Press ⌘Z (Ctrl+Z) to undo, or remove the Rotate step from an image to get the original back. Pressing Reset and applying does the same for every selected image.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Yes. [ and ] turn left and right, H and V flip, and ⌘↩ (Ctrl+Enter) applies. Press ? to see every shortcut.
Which formats can I rotate?
JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF keep their format. GIF and BMP files work too and are saved as PNG. HEIC photos from iPhones are coming soon.
