About this tool

Crop PDF pages to the part you need

This tool crops the pages of a PDF in your browser. Draw a box on a page to keep just that part, or trim every page’s white margins in one go, on all pages, odd or even pages, or the ones you choose. Nothing is redrawn, so text stays sharp and selectable, and the file never leaves your device.

Draw a box, or trim the margins

Draw a box on the page to keep just what’s inside it: a chart from a report, a label to print, a receipt from a scan. The same box crops every page it applies to, so pages of the same layout come out the same size. Drag the box or its handles to adjust it, or use the arrow keys.

Trim margins works page by page instead: each page is cut to what it actually shows, with a narrow margin, a quarter inch or half an inch round it. Pages of different layouts each lose only their own white edges, and a blank page keeps its size.

Crop all pages, only the odd or even ones (handy for two-sided scans, whose margins swap sides), or type the pages, like 1-3, 8.

Cropping hides, it doesn’t remove

A PDF page has a crop box: the part a viewer shows and a printer prints. Cropping sets it, so every app shows the page cut down, and what’s outside the box is still in the file. Someone with an editor can bring it back, and its text can still be found by search tools.

To take content out of a PDF for good, such as an account number or a name, use Redact PDF: it removes the text, pictures and drawings under each box before it saves.

By default only the crop box changes. Turn on “Change the page size too” and the page itself becomes the new size as well, for editors and print tools that ignore the crop box.

Sharp text, same quality

Cropping only changes each page’s box. Text stays text you can select and search, and photos keep every pixel, because nothing on the page is redrawn or compressed again.

Pages stored on their side crop by what you see, so the corner you drew stays the corner. Bookmarks, links, form fields and the document’s title are kept.

Several PDFs can be cropped at once: each saves as a copy named after it, like report-cropped.pdf. To join them into one file, add them to Merge PDF.

How it works

  1. Step 1:Add your PDFs

Drop them in or choose them from your device. The first one opens on its first page.

  2. Step 2:Draw what to keep

Drag a box on the page, or switch to Trim margins. Choose which pages to crop.

  3. Step 3:Press Crop, then save

You get a cropped copy of each PDF. Save one file, or all of them as a .zip.

Questions, answered

How do I crop the white margins off a PDF?

Add the PDF, choose Trim margins and pick how much margin to keep, then press Crop. Each page is cut to what it shows, so pages with different layouts each lose their own white edges.

Can I crop only one page of a PDF?

Yes. Under Pages, choose Pick and type the page number, then draw the box and press Crop. The other pages keep their size.

Does cropping a PDF delete what’s outside the box?

No. Cropping hides it: viewers and printers show only the box, but the content is still in the file. To remove something for good, use Redact PDF.

Will cropping make the text blurry?

No. Only the page’s box changes; nothing is redrawn or compressed, so text stays sharp and selectable and photos keep their quality.

Is my PDF sent anywhere when I crop it?

No. The PDF is opened and saved by an engine running in your browser, so it never leaves your device.
