Turn PNG images into a PDF
This tool turns PNG images into one PDF in your browser, a page for each. Nothing is lost: a plain PNG goes in exactly as it is, and one with a transparent background keeps it. Pages start at each image’s own size, so screenshots stay sharp, with A4 and Letter a tap away.
Every pixel kept
PNG is lossless, and so is its trip into the PDF. A PNG without transparency goes in as it is: its compressed picture is copied into the PDF unchanged. Our 167 KB scanned signature made a 167 KB PDF.
Any other PNG goes in from its pixels, compressed again without loss, so small type, thin lines and flat colours stay exactly as they were. Pixels compressed quickly on your device take more room than a PNG squeezed by an optimiser: our 14.2 KB logo made a 37.3 KB PDF.
Tested with ToolHero’s image-to-PDF writer (pdf-writer 0.15), MozJPEG via @jsquash/jpeg 1.6.0 (mozjpeg 3.3.1), png 0.17.10 via @jsquash/png 3.1.1 and libwebp d2e245ea via @jsquash/webp 1.5.0 on a Mac18,5 (Apple M6) on macOS 27.0.1, 2026-10-16. Each PDF came out the same size in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit.
Transparent backgrounds stay transparent
A logo, an icon or a cut-out photo keeps its transparency: the PDF stores it as a mask beside the picture. On the white page it looks just as it did on white, and placed on a coloured slide or in a design app, only the drawing shows.
Transparency is kept whatever page size you pick. With a margin or on A4, the rest of the page is white, as paper is.
Screenshots at their own size
The page starts on Fit to image: each page is exactly as big as its PNG, so a screenshot is never shrunk onto a sheet with white bars around it. A PNG that records its resolution is placed at that size, and one that doesn’t at one pixel a point.
To print or send the screenshots as a document, pick A4 or Letter. Each one is then scaled to fit the sheet, on a landscape page when it is wider than tall.
A PNG you cropped or resized with the other tools goes in as you left it, still without loss.

Questions, answered
Does PNG to PDF keep the transparent background?
Yes. Transparency goes into the PDF as a mask, so what was see-through stays see-through. On the page’s white it looks the same as before; in apps that place the PDF on colour, only the drawing shows.
Why is the PDF bigger than my PNG?
A PNG with transparency or a palette goes in from its pixels, compressed again quickly on your device, and that takes more room than a PNG an optimiser has squeezed. Nothing is lost either way. A plain PNG goes in as it is, so its PDF is about the same size.
Will text in my screenshot stay sharp?
Yes. Nothing is compressed with loss: every pixel of the PNG is in the PDF, and each page starts at the screenshot’s own size, so nothing is scaled down.
Can I add JPGs and PNGs to the same PDF?
Yes. Add images of any kind together and they share one PDF, a page each, in the order you set. JPGs go in as they are too.
