About this tool

Save chosen pages as a new PDF

This tool pulls pages out of a PDF into one new PDF, in your browser. Click the pages you want, or type their numbers like 3, 8-10, then press Extract. The new file holds just those pages in the order shown, your original is untouched, and nothing is sent anywhere.

Pick the pages, get one PDF

The PDF opens as thumbnails with the tool set to Extract. Click the pages you want to keep, Shift-click for a run, or type numbers into Pick by number. The pages you didn’t pick fade, and the button counts the rest, like Extract 4 pages.

All the picked pages end up together in a single new PDF, even when they were far apart in the original: an invoice from page 2, the terms from page 14, a signature page from the end. That is the difference from splitting, which makes a separate file for every range.

In the order you want, with extras

The extracted pages are saved in the order they show in the grid. Drag them into a new order first, turn one that is sideways, or add a blank page before you press Extract. The preview is exactly what you will get.

Pages are copied as they are, not redrawn, so text stays sharp and searchable and photos keep their quality. The new file keeps the original’s title and author, and links between pages that both made the cut.

When you want many files instead

To cut a PDF into several files, one per chapter or one per page, use Split PDF. To take several pages out of the middle and keep the rest, use Remove pages from PDF.

Questions, answered

How do I extract pages from a PDF into a new file?

Add the PDF, click the pages you want so they are picked, and press Extract. All the picked pages go into one new PDF, in the order shown, and your original file stays as it was.

Can I extract pages that are not next to each other?

Yes. Pick them one by one, or type their numbers such as 2, 7, 15-17. They are saved together in a single PDF.

How is extracting different from splitting a PDF?

Extracting puts the pages you choose together in one new PDF. Splitting cuts a PDF into several files, one for every page or range you set.

Can I change the order of the extracted pages?

Yes. Drag the pages in the grid before you press Extract: the new PDF has them in the order they show there.
