About this tool

SVG to JPG converter for forms, email and print

ToolHero turns an SVG into a JPG that any form, inbox or print shop accepts. It draws the file at the size the SVG sets and fills see-through areas with white, since JPG can’t store transparency. Charts and flat logos often come out larger and softer than as PNG, so pick JPG when something demands it.

When a JPG is the right answer

Application forms on job and government sites, online print services and plenty of older apps take JPG and refuse SVG outright. Email apps show a JPG right in the message, while many offer an attached SVG only as a download.

The white fill matters for logos: the background that was see-through becomes white, which looks right on a white page and boxy on a coloured one. If the drawing has to sit on another colour, keep it as PNG instead.

Sharp lines in a photo format

JPG was designed for photographs. Its compression works in small blocks and spreads faint ripples around hard edges, which shows most on thin lines, small labels and flat areas of colour, exactly what SVG drawings are made of.

Two things help. Raise the quality to 85 or 90 for diagrams and lettering. And draw the SVG larger with Resize before converting: the ripples stay within a few pixels of each edge, so next to bigger lines and letters they matter less. Our chart at 1600×1000 pixels made a 49,998-byte JPG.

Text is drawn with the Liberation fonts that come with ToolHero, cut to the widths of Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New, so labels keep their layout.

Why convert SVG to JPG?

  • What you gain

Sites, print shops and older apps that reject SVG almost always take JPG, the one picture format everything opens.
  • Good to know

See-through areas turn white, and thin lines can pick up faint ripples. A higher quality keeps lettering clean.
  • Measured on our test drawings

At the default quality of 75, our 800×500 bar chart went from a 3,204-byte SVG to a 20,385-byte JPG, about twice its 10,021-byte PNG. The 480×160 logo, with gradient petals, made a 5,701-byte JPG: 0.67× its PNG. A tiny 24×24 icon became a 616-byte JPG, against 319 bytes as PNG.

Tested with resvg 0.48.1 (ToolHero’s SVG engine) with Liberation 2.1.5 fonts drawing and MozJPEG via @jsquash/jpeg 1.6.0 (mozjpeg 3.3.1) writing the JPG on a Mac18,5 (Apple M6) on macOS 27.0.1, 2026-10-14. The output was byte-identical in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit.

How it works

  1. Step 1:Add your SVGs

Drop logos, diagrams or charts in, or choose them from your device.

  2. Step 2:Set the quality

JPG is picked for you. Lines and small text look cleaner at 85 or more; then press Convert.

  3. Step 3:Download the JPGs

Save each JPG on its own or all of them in a .zip, named after the SVGs.

SVG vs JPG at a glance

How the two formats compare, so you know what to expect.

  • SVG

    Your files

Drawings stored as shapes, paths and text instead of pixels, so they stay sharp at any size.

Best for Logos, icons, charts and illustrations, on websites and in design apps.

  • JPG

Questions, answered

Why does the JPG have a white box where my logo was see-through?

JPG has no transparency, so ToolHero fills every clear area with white. For a logo that has to sit on a coloured background, convert it to PNG instead.

What quality works best for a drawing with text?

Go for 85 or 90. The default of 75 suits photos, but small labels and thin lines pick up visible ripples there. The file grows a little, and the edges stay clean.

Can I get a high-resolution JPG from a small SVG?

Yes. Set the size in Resize before converting: the SVG is redrawn at that size, so a small icon or logo becomes a large, sharp JPG instead of a blown-up blur.

Should I send a chart as JPG or PNG?

PNG, unless someone insists on JPG. Our bar chart was twice as big as a JPG and slightly blurred around its labels. Drawings with gradients and soft shading do better as JPG.

Which fonts end up in the JPG?

Liberation Sans, Serif or Mono, picked to match the font the SVG names. They take the same space as Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New. Letters they don’t cover, such as Chinese or emoji, are left out.

Does the SVG leave my computer when I convert it?

No. The drawing and the JPG are both made by your browser on your device, and any image the SVG links to on the web is skipped rather than downloaded.
