Questions, answered
Will converting BMP to JPG reduce quality?
JPG is lossy: it trades a little detail you’re unlikely to notice for a much smaller file. At the default quality most people can’t tell the difference, and you can raise the quality if you want to be extra careful.
Will the JPG be smaller than the BMP?
Usually, yes. JPG compresses images more efficiently than BMP, so most files get noticeably smaller. You’ll see the exact size of every file, and how much you saved, as soon as it’s converted.
Can I convert lots of BMP files at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like: they’re converted side by side on your device, and you can download them one by one or all together as a .zip.
Do my images leave my device?
No. The BMP to JPG conversion runs entirely in your browser, so your images are never sent anywhere. There’s no sign-up and no limit on how many you convert.
