Convert WebP images to SVG
Drop a WebP file to trace it into an SVG. Logos, stickers and icons saved from websites become clean vector shapes, with their transparent background kept, and an animated WebP is traced from its first frame. Lossy WebPs trace well once Remove specks clears their blur. The tracing happens on your device; nothing is sent to a server.
Logos saved from websites
Websites send WebP to browsers that can show it, so right-click, save and you often end up with a .webp: the company logo from a partner’s page, an icon from a store listing, a sticker from a chat app. Many design and print tools still won’t open it, and none of them can scale it up cleanly.
Tracing it gives you an SVG instead: shapes rather than pixels, so you can resize it for a slide, a print or a sign and recolour it in your vector editor. Use the largest copy the site offers; a bigger WebP holds more of the logo’s curves.
Lossy, lossless and transparent WebP
Lossless WebP keeps every pixel, like PNG, and traces just as cleanly. Lossy WebP is compressed more like JPEG, so it softens edges and adds faint blotches; raise Remove specks a little and keep Colours to the colours you can see.
Either kind can be see-through. Where the WebP is transparent, the SVG has no shape, so a sticker keeps its cut-out outline.
Animated WebP and stickers
An SVG made here is a still drawing, so an animated WebP is traced from its first frame. To pick another moment, save that frame as a still first. Cartoon-style stickers with bold outlines are among the pictures that trace best: few colours, clear edges.
How it works
-
Step 1:Add the WebP
Drop .webp files, paste one you copied from a page, or choose them from your device.
-
Step 2:Pick a preset
Logo suits icons and stickers, Drawing suits line art, Photo suits pictures. Press Vectorize when the settings look right.
-
Step 3:Download the SVG
Check the preview, compare with the WebP, then save the .svg, or every file as a .zip.
Questions, answered
Why won’t my design app open the WebP I saved?
WebP is a web format, and older versions of many design, office and print programs don’t read it. An SVG opens in all of them, scales without blurring and stays editable, which a WebP saved as PNG or JPG wouldn’t.
Does a lossy WebP trace as well as a lossless one?
Nearly. Lossy compression softens edges and adds faint noise, which can turn into small extra shapes. Raise Remove specks to 6 or 8 pixels and keep Colours low, and a lossy logo traces about as cleanly as its lossless original.
What happens to an animated WebP?
It is traced from its first frame into a still SVG. Animation isn’t carried over.
Is the sticker’s transparent outline kept?
Yes. Every pixel that is at least half see-through becomes background with no shape, so the SVG keeps the sticker’s outline and sits cleanly on any colour.
